Anyone ever have any luck , painting LITTLE TIKES outdoor toys?

I know they are Poly-E. or P.P. type plastic, but will spray paint hold up? Also any hints / ideas on cleaning,,bringing back 'some' of the color...ThxAnyone ever have any luck , painting LITTLE TIKES outdoor toys?
You can use most cleaners on toys like that, just be sure to rinse them well %26amp; then let them dry in the sun.

Krylon makes a spray paint called Fusion that is made just for use on plastic. The trick is to paint several light coats, letting each coat dry thoroughly. Good luck!!Anyone ever have any luck , painting LITTLE TIKES outdoor toys?
Primer it first, that is the key to getting a good paint application

We have obtained an old painting that is an outdoor scene with the painters initials of E.H. Who is E.H.? ?

The painting is very dark and muted. We have obtained an old painting that is an outdoor scene with the painters initials of E.H. Who is E.H.? ?
There are several artists with those initials. Could you photograph the signature and a portion of the image to help me identify? What does the medium seem to be (i.e., oil, tempera, watercolor, etc.)? Any other distinguishing marks or pieces of information would be helpful. If it is framed in what looks to be original framing, it will help to narrow the time period as well. Being dark and muted could be a sign of style and/or age of the work.

What to do about rubber feet making marks on outdoor painted surface?

I have those resin chairs that have rubber feet. The feet make marks on my painted porch. The marks are removable using Mr. Clean's Magic Eraser, but I was wondering how to prevent these marks in the first place. The rubber wheels on my grill make these marks also. I was thinking denatured or rubbing alcohol, but I don't know if it will ruin the rubber. Any thoughts? Thanks! What to do about rubber feet making marks on outdoor painted surface?
Stick the little felt pads you use for indoor furniture on hardwood floors on the rubber feet. What to do about rubber feet making marks on outdoor painted surface?
Yes I think you will have to replace the rubber feet with something else. There are white and light grey feet you might be able to get.
Replace the rubber feet with teflon.

Painting over outdoor 'treated Timber'?

I wish to paint over a new 'Treated' picket fence which the suppliers state '' Can be painted ''

Can you please advise me the best type of Undercoat to use for weather protection?

The top coat will be in a Gloss paint..

Thank you for any help.

Exterior grade oil primer.

Make sure the lumber is completely dry before painting. The treating process puts a significant amount of water in the wood, it can take a few months to dry out. Also, it is common for manufacturers to put a water repellent sealer on this type of product at the treating plant. If present, it needs to come off before you paint.

After priming with oil primer, you may paint after completely dry with an oil paint. If you are using a latex based paint, you will need to wait at least 2 days for the primer to dry completely. There is no problem with latex over an oil primer other than this and it is much easier to deal with.

Also, make sure you cover all surfaces of the fence when painting for best results. Don't forget the bottom edge of the pickets.Painting over outdoor 'treated Timber'?
do not use any latex based primers on pressure treated lumber. USE OIL BASED. With latex the material used to treat the lumber will bleed through and caused yellowing. Use a high quality oiled based product. I use oil based exterior KILZ...it is cheap and fast drying...1 hour. Then use an good quality oiled based paint as topcoat. Do this and you will be happy with the results with smiles and grins as wide and bright as a rainbow,
the new latex based exterior primers are excellent. If they stick to the fence like they do to my skin and hair then they should do the trick. Oil is always good, but I think that these days the latex based are just as good if not better. For the average do it yourselfer the latex is probably less irritating to use also. Good luck and may you never have to paint your fence again. Remember 2 coats of finish is always best. Take your time and use top grade products(that is brushes, rollers and paint) They may be a little expensive but will make your job go easier and last longer.

Outdoor house painting and wood replacement...?

My home is mostly brick, but the soffit/facia/trim wood is all in need of a repainting. My handyman said the wood (about 30+ yrs old) needs to be replaced now, or in 5 years. Another option is to have all this covered in siding so it is maintenance free. Would I need to replace the wood for that option too? What's my best course of action? Thanks.Outdoor house painting and wood replacement...?
Bull sheet I have been painting houses for 25 years and have only replaced rotted wood , to replace it just because it is old is ridiculous, old wood is actually much harder than new wood, so the answer is NO

replace any rotten wood then paint using industry standard techniques

or cover with vinylOutdoor house painting and wood replacement...?
Hi,

What's his reason that the wood needs replacing? Never saw 30 year old house that required all the trim to be replaced. If it was that bad then covering it up is a worse solution. Get a carpenter to inspect the trim.
Paint won't last long on 30 year old wood.

If the wood is not rotted vinyl can be installed over it.

If it's near rotted, replace it.

Only an installer can tell, since I can't see it from here.

  • I handpainted w/acrylic paints an outdoor clay pot..What do I final coat it with to protect it from moisture?

A good sealer coat, matt or low-sheen will do. But! do not forget the inside if this is a terra-cotta pot or is low-fired. If you plant anything in it then water will leach out through the pot and lift off your painted design. Two or three coats of the waterproof sealer you use on the outside will do. If there is any chance of water getting into the pot, even just rain still seal it even though you may not use it as a planter.I handpainted w/acrylic paints an outdoor clay pot..What do I final coat it with to protect it from moisture?

Spray several coats of clear spray acrylic paint on your clay pot. Let it dry completely between coats, and spray it on evenly so you don't get run streaks in the clear-coat.
get an outdoor/waterproof sealer from a craft or hardware store

Can paint turtles survive in an outdoor pond environment in Ohio?

We just inherited 2 paint turtles that a family had kept in an aquarium. We have a small 500 gallon goldfish pond outdoors with about 30 goldfish of different sizes.

If we put the turtles in the pond, could they survive? Would we need to take them out in the winter? The fish seem to survive the winters fine.

Also, would the turtles eat the fish?

I know this is more than one question and I would like to say in advance that I appreciate the help. Thanks. Can paint turtles survive in an outdoor pond environment in Ohio?
They may not eat the goldfish but they will bite at them. Unless you heat the pond, I would bring the turtles indoors for the winter. During the warm weather, you just have to insure that they don't wander off.Can paint turtles survive in an outdoor pond environment in Ohio?
