It had already been painted with some sort of protector when we bought the house and we tried cuprinol decking stain last year but it done a pretty poor job and its needing redone again. I live in Scotland so its got to be good to withstand our wet cold weather and not too expensive either as we have a lot of decking to cover. What is the best paint/stainer to use to protect outdoor wooden decking?
Well the Expensive stuff is some of the best stuff.
Sikkens is the brand and they have great stuff.
Cabot Stain and Paint is probly the best for your money but I dont know if its available in Scotland. They come in solid color stain, semi-solid stain, transparent stain and clear water proofing stain. Either type will work for all weather. The weather is harsh no matter what so with a good stain you will still have to re-coat every 2 - 3 years anyway.
Good Luck! :)What is the best paint/stainer to use to protect outdoor wooden decking?
