I want to use a water base paint---clean up is easier. What is a good outdoor paint for the porch and rails?
Olympic makes a great waterbased stain/paint that comes in a multitude of colors. I used it on my fence and it looks exactly the way it did when I painted it 5 years ago. Consumer Reports recently rated it best for resisting fading and flaking. What is a good outdoor paint for the porch and rails?

Hello, I am acontractor and I will inform you on this topic.

In the realm of painting you will have a bunch of people tell you different things but I'll tell you few. 1) you pay for what you get.

Check your local yellow pages and see if you have any of these suppliers: Sherwin Williams, ICI Paints, Kelly Moore.

These are the suppliers of paint /stainproducts that I use and I have to bind in contract on a daily basis regarding there performances. When you start shopping for best prices at your big corporate franchises that sell paint along with other things, But they don't design them so they go along who can manufacture these products you are interested in cheaper for that corporate dollar.

So please see if you have any of the retailers that I recommend first. Any one of these suppliers will answer your questions and sell you what you NEED, not what they think will work. Good luck!
