I would use a water based exterior poly with uv inhibitors. The is not a benefit to using an oil based product. Do not use anykind of lacquers.Metallic Gold Outdoor Paint Question?
Use a spray clear lacquer in light coats, as many as you can but light so it does not run.
Just look for a finish that indicates exterior, as they use on boats etc., might be a varathane.
