What kind of paint can i use on outdoor terracota pots apart from masonary paint?

you can use acrylic paint, get it quite cheaply in art supplies shops in a huge range of colour. Its waterproof and easy to use as brushes can be cleaned in water providing you wash them straight away. What kind of paint can i use on outdoor terracota pots apart from masonary paint?
I would apply a white undercoat and then use acrylic paint on top of it. Acrylic is waterproof and will resist fading and as mentioned already, is available in a multitude of colours from art shops or even stationery shops. Just try to resist the temptation of peeling it off when dry. What kind of paint can i use on outdoor terracota pots apart from masonary paint?
any emulsion-this will wash off after a while,or gloss-make sure this is totally dry before planting up
i've always heard that painting flower pots will kill the plants you put in them, maybe because they no longer have any air circulation, you might try one first before you do all of them
